5 Indian Youngsters from IPL Season 10, who can make an Impact on The International Level

When the first T20 International match was played between Australia and New Zealand, India was amongst the countries who were hardly aware of the format. Two years later, India were astonishingly crowned as the world champions of that very format. What that meant was that now the Indian masses were hungry for more of the shorter format of cricket. To satisfy that hunger, the BCCI formulated a league of its own kind that focused more on the rise of Indian talent.
Ever since its inception, IPL has been gifting cricketers to the Indian national side. Players who had to remain sidelined due to some odd reasons found IPL as a way for their comeback. IPL has now developed into a source of young talent for Indian cricket. Even after the presence of all the big names from around the globe, millions of hearts expect the Indian youngsters to step up and hog the limelight. In this season of IPL too, there are young guns who are expected to shine bright for their respective franchisees. Of the many young names available, we have a look at the 5 top names who have managed to pull of some sensational performances in this season of IPL.

1. Rishabh Pant

The shoes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, just as a wicketkeeper batsman, have proven to be too big for the available replacements so far. Rishabh Pant, who was also a part of the Indian Under-19 squad that was looked after by Rahul Dravid, is however giving some strong challenge for his place in the national side as a permanent wicketkeeper. The Uttarakhand-born wicketkeeper-batsman has already displayed some of his exceptional batting skills in the ongoing season of IPL. His quickfire innings of 97 against Gujarat Lions made people draw comparison of him with the aussie legend Adam Gilchrist.

2. Mohammed Siraj

This name deserves a special mention. After becoming Hyderabad’s top wicket taker by bagging an impressive 41 wickets in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy, his entrance in the IPL was certainly obvious. It wasn’t just his home side who were interested in the young speedster, otherfranchisees too were eager to get him. He managed to pull off an impressive bid of 2.6 crores. He has ably lived up to his price tag and has delivered a series of economical and wicket taking spells. The fact that he is the son of an auto driver never stopped him from achieving his dreams. His full paced yorkers, perfect line and length and an aggressive bowling action has put him in contention for becoming India’s front line bowler very soon.

3. Nitish Rana

In a side that boasted of big names like Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma and Jos Butler, a young Indian lad managed to set the stage on fire. It is said when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. The same has been the case for Mumbai’s Nitish Rana. When Mumbai Indians found themselves in a spot of bother, Nitish Rana managed to bail them out. He carried them to the finishing line on many occasions and has turned out to be their mainstay so far. If he manages to keep up his form that he has displayed so far, he surely has a chance at making it through to the national side.

4. Basil Thampi

Aged just 23, this Kerala born youngster raised quite a few eyebrows when he pulled off a bid of 85 lakh at the IPL auctions. He just didn’t stop there, his raw pace kept impressing everyone alike. He clocked around 140 kmph regularly, which was good enough to award him a few wickets. He received some coaching from the Australian great, Glenn McGrath, at the MRF pace foundation. His speed and consistency have dubbed him the tag of India’s next pace sensation. His main strength is the fact that he can bowl yorkers at will. He is the one who can bowl six back to back yorkers in a single over.

5. Krunal Pandya

Not as young as the other names in our list, the 26-year-old man from Baroda has had an impact in his very first appearance in the IPL. His initial identity was only the fact that he was the elder brother of Hardik Pandya. He managed to bag a price tag of 2 crores not for his name but for the performances he already displayed for Baroda in the domestic circle. His recent performances for Mumbai Indians have left people confused as to which of the Pandyasactually played for India. His all round performances is one of the main reason why Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the playoffs.

Sanju Samson is young but the fact that he has already made his mark in the previous seasons doesn’t let his name appear in the list just like many other names. The other youngsters who have all the abilities to impress one and all include Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, T Nataranjan and many others. The biggest upset however has been the absence of Sarfaraz Khan, who too would have been a brilliant asset for RCB.
